ABOUT US

Hi, my name's Evan Yee! I started The Fake Food Show in 2020 during the pandemic when there was heightened paranoia, ignorance & violence towards Asian people, food and restaurants. In addition with local businesses struggling during that time, I started creating videos on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram & Facebook that highlighted local mom & pop restaurants, especially the Chinatown restaurants that were affected the most during COVID-19.

Named the Fake Food Show because I don't claim to be an expert on food, I just know I enjoy trying new foods and getting to know the people and cultures behind them.

Along the way, I created a video in which I had my grandpa try Chinese food from Trader Joe's (which he hated) and a new series with Chinese Grandpa was born!

So follow along this journey as I continue to learn and try new/old classic dishes alike while the backbone of the Fake Food Show continues to be culture, family and of course, FOOD.
